Employees Provident Fund (EPF)

EPF announced removing criteria for i-Sinar withdrawal to help EPF members with their financial challenges this ongoing pandemic.

The eligibility criteria is as follows:

Category 1

  • Member does not contribute to EPF for at least 2 consecutive months.
  • Member is still working but has dropped of 30% and above in base salary from March 2020 onwards.

Member is required to apply online via https://isinar.kwsp.gov.my

Category 2

  • Member whose total income has been reduced by 30% and above from March 2020 onwards. Please note that total income including base salary and other benefits such as allowances and overtime.

Member is required to prepare supporting documents for verification process.
  • Payslip before and after reduction of income.
  • Notice of reduction of allowance/ overtime claims from employer.

Following the announcement of removal of the criteria for i-Sinar facility in February 2021, EPF announced that application that were made before 25th February 2021 will be approved in batches, and payments will begin from 2nd March 2021.

New application will be opened on 8th March 2021 for members who below the age of 55, subject to their available Account 1 balance. EPF will take 5 working days to process the application. For member aged 55 and above, they are eligible to withdraw any amount at any given time under the Age 55 Withdrawal.
